Hope the move wasn't too painful and that the new place is much better than the last! The last place sounded pretty bad o.o
If it's an apartment, I definately hope they have poured concrete for every unit instead of just wood. That's why the last apartment I had sucked so bad. Things worked, but you could hear everything and the floor sagged a bit when you walked.
Congradulations on the new move, I hope things work out well. And yes, having a yard is nice, after not having one for a while. That's one of the big reasons I like it here, we can entertain outside, instead of leave people stuck indoors the whole time.
Another benefit to a yard is running through a sprinkler on a hot day. Something I've taken advantage of this summer, and plan to continue taking advantage of, until the heatwave finally passes and we actually start getting rain again.
Oh, wow, a sprinkler! If we have an outside hose I can totally do that next summer.
Our lease has a clause against wasting water but a sprinkler is so much less volume than a regular hose or anything like filling up a kiddie pool that it would totally make sense.
I bought some tulips, daffodils, and narcissus to plant next weekend before I go to the renfaire with friends; they'll bloom in the spring!
