So, not only did I find a new printer and a box of my favorite tea in the free box, I found a crappy little digital camera that takes fun videos. Let's see if it works.

327 KB, .avi video format

Doesn't work for me. . . . Or at least, it's not playable on any media player I have. :-(

What codec is it using? I can't get anything of mine to recognize it; perhaps it is Indeo?

Upon further inspection, I found that yes, this is indeed Indeo, Indeo 5 to be precise.

Let me guess, Wayman: you're using a Mac. Same here. But Indeo is exceedingly difficult to play on Macs. The codec is very hard to find for OS9, and it doesn't exist at all for OSX. Probably never well, either, because Ligos, the company responsible for Indeo, doesn't develop it anymore, not even for Windows (though old versions of the codec still work there).

The only way to play Indeo on OSX is to get the three codecs for OS9, and then use QuickTime Player in Classic mode (OSX's player won't work).

Yup, using a PowerBook running 10.2.5. Silly non-cross-platform-compatible formats. Ah well, I get to see the real Sarah and Kim soon enough, so I'm not that desperate to see this.

Yeah, I suspect it is an issue of different operating systems, as I'm using windows right now (yes, i know, i know) and windows media player opens it ok.
