[Gaudior: thank you. You see. I am working it out slowly.
Rush: movie good. Writing good. You know.

Please do not be alarmed. I'm thinking. I am not physically harming myself. Please comment on writing if you would like.]

Keeping Names

"I don't know. I didn't understand." He frowned and was silent while he cleaned out the cup. Finally, he said, "when you go swimming in the deep parts of the river in the summer, and watch the sunlight flow through the water onto the stones—it was a word like that."

She says
she's only seen two reactions:
Write on oneself--
always,
or never again.

I always write on myself

It is the only thing

We really know.

They write on themselves
the sweeping line of wing
the dots the clouds
the word
arcing through the sky

under the sun

she sits in a room
dark
with shades
pulled down
the knife
bled wet
first one name then the other

and none of them hers

It is so wrong
Is it so wrong

My hands, too
always have to have something to do
my pen

My pen!

There is blood
ink
under these nails.

Very well-written. You and Homasse should get together sometime; your metaphor of writing as bleeding is one she often uses too.

Thanks for the disclaimer that you weren't actually hurting yourself, though. It would have been difficult to tell otherwise.

That was... vivid. I like your writing.

The metaphor is good... but it seems a bit more than metaphor. Metonymy, perhaps? I do that with the sky.
