I found a hat in front of my door the other day when I left my room. It is made of blue satin printed with gold moons, stars, and suns, with a scalloped brim and a Hogwarts Crest sticker attached to it, and a tassel: a wizard's hat.

It was very obviously placed there to be mine (I had to step over it to get out the door). I took it and put it inside my room, marveling about Bryn Mawr. I thought I might give it as a mayday gift.

I thought that it was something that "just happened to happen and was not very likely to happen again," in the immortal words of Dr. Seuss.

But I just came back from dinner, and found another hat.
This one is also a wizard's hat. It is black velvet with small silver stars. There is a wire in the brim to shape it, and a little detachable green dragon with tiny wings and a rather resigned-looking face curling around the base of the hat.

I don't know who's giving me these hats, or why. I actually don't really want to know--the suspense of the thing is the most fun. I spent the past five minutes staring at the second hat and laughing like a loon.

Just as long as it's not the Hogwarts Mafia out to get me.

I have to say, receiving mystery hats is very unusual... is it a special occasion? They certainly sound like interesting hats, though - congratulations on being their beneficiary, I guess!
