The Slums of the Dreaming
24/4/02 10:42I am convinced that there are several things which one should never have to wake up thinking, such as:
I've just killed my father again. Look at the blood.
The bus is tipping backwards over this cliff; my sister and I are going to die.
There are millions of silverfish eggs attached to my face, and soon they are going to hatch.
One should especially never wake up with the last one and actually feel like there are millions of silverfish eggs attached to one's face for the next five minutes.
To put it bluntly: I have lately been having a spate of very very bad dreams. Even the ones that start off beautifully, however--like the bus dream, it started off with a beautiful purple and pink sunrise where the clouds were edged in orange gilt--seem to turn to crap in a very short time. For the past two months or so, this has been my default dream-setting.
Not only do I feel as if I have not gotten any sleep to speak of, but I feel as if I have gotten negative amounts of sleep.
Any suggestions on how to get decent, or even boring, dreams again would be much appreciated.

dream charms
24/4/02 07:58 (UTC)When I was eight I still had the occational nightmares and put it under my pillow. Stopped having nightmares. Stopped remembering any kind of dream at all for that matter and it was a long time before I started having dreams that I remembered after I woke up.
So my suggestion is to make a thing to put under your pillow or something that will give you good dreams. Ask Athena or the cosmic power of your choice to bless it. Maybe that will help. :)
I miss that nightmare I used to have . .
