New LJ Policy re: Crossposting

Please do not cross-post your comments on friends-locked entries on this journal to twitter or facebook.

You can change your default cross-posting setting for both services here. If you have enabled cross-posting as the default setting, it will not automatically check the "cross-post this" box for your comments to friends-locked posts. But, if you checked the box, you would still have the ability to cross-post a comment on a friends-locked entry.

Don't do it. If you do so, and it's not a, "crap, that checkbox is right next to the post button; what a horrible UI" mistake, I will ban you.

Wow, LJ, way to half-assedly implement something without thinking through the implications.

Oy. This is why I try to keep all of my assorted accounts on things as separate as possible. It's much easier to avoid this sort of thing when LJ doesn't know about my FB account and vice versa.
