Chinese Zodiac Peanut Butter Chocolate Marzipan Cupcakes

I am on a cupcakes kick. So, faerieboots (who is visiting for the weekend) and I made cupcakes after she got back from choir rehersal this evening. They are the peanut butter cupcakes from the Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World cookbook.

They are pretty tasty.

Because we are crazy we also made Chinese Zodiac animals out of pre-made Marzipan and put them on top of the cupcakes.

Yes, but we were desperately trying to think of something that there were 12 of because we only had a dozen cupcakes. :) I guess a tiger is also, technically, a cat?

I had been voting that if we had enough marzipan leftover, we make a little marzipan cat who didn't have a cupcake and looked longingly at the others.

Sadly (or perhaps thankfully), there was not enough marzipan and I had to get going soon after we finished.
