Adventures in Computerland
22/6/04 16:45So, I upgraded AOL twice in two weeks, and this version appears relatively stable. I have only gotten kicked off once, because my modem stopped responding.
I got a new virus checker/firewall package because the last time the virus checker was updating AOL crashed the computer and took the viruschecker with it. That's talented software. I had to reinstall, and when it said it wanted to download 288 updates, I just laughed and went comparison-shopping. I got a $30 rebate on a $35 piece of software. Go me.
I also got a lovely litte game, Alice, which I have been wanting for a long time. It's a version of wonderland that's become twisted, and you're Alice. The Vorpal Sword is a really really big knife and that's just the beginning. You should play this, Rush-That-Speaks.
I applied for better jobs than the one I have now and two people said I am under consideration for employment. So even if I am not working in the Boston area yet I hope I won't work this awful thing for too long.
And one more--I have an old computer game from '91 called Sorcerian. No matter what soundcard option I pick when I install it--even "internal speaker"--it won't play any sound. Am I missing something? I can't find anyone else with this problem on the internet, either.
Rabidfangurl, I've burned all of Wolf's Rain onto disk and will make copies and mail them to you in a few days.
Oh. And while I am on a technology kick--does anyone want a $55 Game Boy Advance? You can get them used at Electronics Boutique for that price.
Now off to eat and go to work.
Syona Keleste, I am going to try and call you this evening after 9 pm.
zelas8x8, I will try to call you tomorrow afternoon.
