Boston Trip!

eredienWell, I'm going to visit Ada and Lauren and Rebecca in Boston. Finally! I'm very happy about this, and also about the fact that other people will eventually be visiting. I'm leaving tomorrow for a week!
Boston is the only city, as of yet, that I can ever imagine myself living in. The rough edges and hectic pace of New York, say, isn't there anymore. It's been worn away by the people living there, and feels like nothing so much as the outfit I'm wearing now (jeans and a comfort-sweatshirt). It's comfortable with its change.
And the people I'm going to visit, and the people who will be coming later, are the best people I've ever met.
I mean this in the sense of that they know how to be people. They manage to live in the moment without being shortsighted, their work gradually merges into their play (and the difference sometimes disappears altogether, like a mirage; and you realize there really wasn't any difference at all). All of my friends are like this, to some extent. It's wonderful.
They haven't let life wear them down. I think if they keep living like this, jadedness won't even ever be able to touch them. What a wonderful thing.
