Skin so Green and Fine, Wendy Wheeler.

While I am on a theological kick I will set down a thought I had the other day and thought, "I should write that, to remember it."
I heard people talking on the radio, or the television, who were talking about deadly diseases. And I thought, "we all have a deadly disease. It is called Life. Most of us forget that." I was not upset; it was an interesting observation. I felt happy about it: I realized it is much easier to let yourself live if you remember you must die, and resolved to live.
I walked outside and looked at the grass. I realized that each individual blade is life, the entire earth covered with life (since plankton is the grass of the sea). And saw the leaves, and thought about how the hairs that keep my dog warm are dead now and how miraculous that is.
The whole earth shouts life, life, life! with each moment and everything you see.
Keep this in mind in the dark moments, soul, and awe and wonder at the It which smiles at the living of grass.
