I am done with work. This is good.
I spent yesterday out in Philadelphia with Rush-That-Speaks, zelas8x8, and SyonaKeleste.

Other than the driving heading back--there was a moment when a phalanx of drivers, all of whom were trying to head in opposite directions, blocked my path such that to move I would have had to find a fourth dimension of space-time--the evening was lovely. And, come to think of it, so was the evening before that.

I have had two "world cuisines" in two days, one of which--West African--I had never had before. I have wandered around Philadelphia, and plan on wandering further later today and tomorrow.

We watched Van Helsing at the theater. It was marvelous, and everything a monster movie should be. Didn't take itself seriously, which was lovely. Any movie that has mad scientists screaming "It's ALIIIVE!", a masque, and a classic torch-wielding mob is fine with me. Go see it. Especially Gerbilhouse people.
Note: There is also going to be a TV series.

These are not necessarily my favorite songs, although some of my favories are in here. Took off anything instrumental or in Russian or Japanese. Answers posted in a few days.

Let me be the only one/to keep you from the cold

There's a smile when the pain comes/the pain gonna make everything alright

And then you miss me awhile/you were looking for yourself out there

And my clothes don't fit me no more/a thousand miles just to slip this skin

And her eyes shine like the moon on the sea/she comes in incense and patchouli

And the sons of engineers/ride their father's magic carpets made of steel

The waters dark and deep/inside this ancient heart

God help us all if we're to blame for their unanswered prayers/they roll the sidewalks up at night this place goes underground

It's a cold room/and the walls ask where you've gone

With fingernails that shine like justice/and a voice that is dark like tinted glass

A thousand dreams I still believe/I'd make you give them all to me

Time passes much too quickly/when we're together laughing

I wrap my fear around me like a blanket/I sailed my ship of safety 'till I sank it

And as she turns/this way she moves in the logic of all my dreams

And in the streets the children screamed/the lovers cried and the poets dreamed

No one suspected/he was packing an uzi

Find a way to lie/'bout a home I'll never see

How long 'till my soul gets it right/can any human being ever reach the highest light

And MacHeath spends like a sailor/did our boy do something rash?

This shattered dream you cannot justify/We're gonna scream until we're satisified

Glad to hear all necessary work is done for the moment and that you have the opportunity to chill out a bit. I'm looking forward to Van Helsing myself -- I'm fine with the lighthearted approach to the gothic source material, given how much of it is squashed into the movie. ;)
