Здрастыте? Ура! Я рада! Это журнал разрешат мне писать по-русскй!
(That says, "Hello? Hooray! I am happy! This journal lets me write in Russian!" I didn't know it could do that.)
I probably won't be writing in Russian in this journal much, since I don't know if any of you out there know Russian, but it may come in useful, if I'm trying to explain something and want to make an analogy to Russian.
Would people let me know if they can see things that look like letters up there, or if it's just a whole bunch of wierd characters? I'm seeing Russian letters when I post it, but I don't know if that's just the way my computer's set up, or not.
Спасесба! (Thank you!)

How did you do that? OOh, I'm green with envy!
How to write in Russian on your computer
20/10/01 14:44 (UTC)First you have to go and load multilanguage support onto your computer. Go to start>settings>control panel>add & remove programs.
Then click on the "windows setup" tab and find the icon for "multilanguage support." It's a little globe. Click the checkbox and follow the instructions to install it.
Your computer should automatically load a few Russian fonts, and there should be a little icon in your taskbar that says, "En". Click on it to switch back and forth from Russian to English.
The keyboard layout is different - since Cyrillic has more letters than the Roman alphabet, some of them are in odd places. It takes a little getting used to but after that you'll be writing Russian like a pro.
If I forgot something here, try searching in windows help for "multilanguage support".
Good luck and have fun. Poka!
