Writingness

Why do I often start writing for fun at 12 am? It can't make the stories any more (or, my brain says, any less, thank you very much) coherent. I wake up the next day and am tired and grumpy and go, "why did I start at 12?"
But I just wrote 4.5 pages single spaced.
That's almost 1,600 words.
And that is one goal--finish a short story before going away for break--closer to my ultimate goal of "write all the time."
Maybe if I'm really good I will even get something publishable out over the break.
