My friend Fang Tsu posted
this to his livejournal. It's worth a read, but only if you have time to become completely and sputteringly indignant over message twisting by today's political climate in Ray Bradbury's brilliant
Fahrenheit 451.
Go to Amazon.com and rate that sucker so it dies.

26/11/03 06:08 (UTC)I was thinking about Fahrenheit 451 recently in the context of our current situation. Gah. And Bab-5 and Orwell. I've been doing that sort of thing a lot.
What's sad is I wasn't really surprised by that review. I've been posting on current events forums and there are people that actually think like that. I read an article yesterday that said that Bush is a polarizer -- people either love him and thing he's saving the country or hate him and think he's destroying it. With very little middle ground.

*g* What was that about a polarizer...? ;)

26/11/03 06:42 (UTC)Things like this should be kept around, as a reminder of the ignorance that we must fight. As long as there are idiots like this out there, we will always have to be vigilant against unbridled idiots like this, because sad to say, they outnumber us. This is something which we cannot allow ourselves to forget, because this is the sort of barrier that we have to overcome.
Re: Rate it so it dies?
28/11/03 15:12 (UTC)That said, this idiot makes me want to swear more than I ever have before. Ray Bradbury wasn't -ALIVE- when 9-11 happened you frickin' idiotic dorkface! Aaaaaaaagh!

2/12/03 05:12 (UTC)I'm in agreement with those who thought it was a troll -- and because the Amazon comment therefore had no merit whatever, it should be rated out of existence.
Edit: further comment excised -- again. <:)
