I've been obsessing similarly for the past week or so over a song on the most recent Rasputina album; the lyrics you linked to express the exact opposite concept: a human gaining wings. The one I can't stop listening to is rather about an angel losing them (but is, amazingly, based upon the same uplifting principle of discovery):
