I just got a class email in my activities box with the following header: "2004 Commencement Speaker."

Wait a minute: is this about the commencement speaker they'll be having, or does it mean you're the Commencement speaker?

If it means you're the Commencement speaker, then congratulations! Though I must say, it seems awfully early for them to be picking a Commencement speaker for 2004. But then, I don't know how Bryn Mawr does its Commencement speakers; maybe they do choose them this far in advance.

If it's instead about the Commencement speaker, then it's kind of mean of you to not tell us who the speaker is. I think you may have forgotten to post something, perhaps?

I am not the commencement speaker.
Though I can get up and speak ad-lib in front of at least 200 people without a qualm, I'd prefer not to be.

The email was to have class members nominate who they'd like the 2004 commencement speaker to be. Hanah suggested Alan Kors, and that motion has been seconded by both myself and Rush.
