Zara and I just finished watching the first Cowboy Bebop DVD.
The following thoughts are passing through my mind in no particular order:
Damn, that's amazingly well-done animation and story.
There's so much blood.
I need to get the soundtrack.
The following thought is screaming at me over the top of all of them:
Spike does tai chi?
This is rather disturbing. But in one sequence you can clearly see him doing the opening move. Zara and I both looked at each other and went, "huh?"
So now, I am keeping a list of people I find in anime who do tai chi. This might seem slightly obsessive on either end. I assure you, however, that it's natural curiosity based on my rather larger obsessions with storytelling, religion/spirituality, and form-and-function, which really do overarch everything else.
So far:
Spike - Cowboy Bebop
Hanmyo - Outlaw Star

12/8/02 14:55 (UTC)I enjoy Bebop, although it's been a while since I watched it. Last one I did watch was the first episode on disk three, which was really good.
And Ed is indeed fabulous.
