komodos also don't need to have sex to have kids. So I find this forum with people asking "why do they have sex then?" and I'm ROTFL to myself. Two reasons spring to mind quite easily: a) keeping a diverse population going so the species doesn't die out from deformities (bound to happen if one female tries to spawn an entire race on her own .. . you get the idea); b) maybe they ENJOY it? Other species have been known to switch gender in order to reproduce, if there are too many of one or the other. Nature. Gotta love it! :)
