Just one note on Rango... You realize it had a PG rating, right? A few of the comments you made suggested it was G.
And, honestly, I think there was only one actual death shown, when Jake shot the bird-man, arguably in self-defense. There were certainly hints of it happening off-screen, but I only recall that one actual death. In this day and age, I'm not so sure that might not have still gotten a PG.
