Well, since the authors kept implying that strong men tied her up because they were threatened by her competence and femininity--but then didn't bother to deal with the dark undertones of the implication that they themselves raised--don't you think it was kind of a creepy thing to kind of raise the implication of "strong and smart women are of course going to be tied up and beaten into unconsciousness by thuggish, strong, and evil men?" Don't you think it's even creepier that the authors just left it at that, assuming readers will be entertained or even amused by the implication that "strong and smart women were *of course* going to be tied up and beaten into unconsciousness by thuggish, strong and evil men."
