I disagree. I think that eredien is putting forth a very good strategy for changing the minds and hearts of formerly-closeted queer politicians-- and doing that is likely to have far-reaching changes in both the social climate and in the laws.
Beating up on outed politicians gets their victims vengeance; successfully reaching out to them gets them closer to a world where they don't have to be victims any more.
