Here's what I'm planning on doing at Readercon:
Thursday paneling (Depending on how energetic I feel. Signs are currently pointing to yes.)
-Rival Revolutionary Movements
-Snape, Gollum, Moral Lynchpins
[Edit: I am not, I think, going to the Thursday panels.]
Friday:
- How I Wrote Dust (I am hoping to hear her talk about why she wrote it, as well)
- Not One of Us Reading (I am reading! Come hear!)
- Imagination & Ambiguity in Pan's Labyrinth
- Triumphing Over Competence
- Either the Critical Review or Theodora Goss' reading.
- Objects in a Room (I read this panel and my hindbrain said, "oh, it's for you.")
- Elephant in the Room
- How Would you Shock Your Sister?
- "Genre Distinctions" looks great, but I'm going to nineweaving's reading.
- Crowley reading, then Taaffe.
- We - Compare Translations (more useful this year, as I understand the base language).
- Meet the Pros(e)
- Lunch and Dinner, somewhere in there.
Saturday:
- Neurons/Saurons
- Reformation
- Fantasists/Philologists
- Regionalism & Fantastic
- Sing w/Text
- Rhysling Slan
- Plays
- Kirk Poland
Sunday:
- Aesthetics of Magazines or Stop Making Sense
- Trolls Got Rythym or Jackson Award
- Satire (?)
- Hamster Huey, or Aegypt (how many pages can I read in two days?)
- All of the 2 pm panels look good. I am inclined to Magic & Myth
I feel like there were panels I've missed. Suggestions? Criticism? Cries of "How could you have forgotten..."?
Also, here is the cover of The Field Guide to Surreal Botany.
