18/12/10 18:51I haven't been reading or using LJ at all much lately.
But I found this thing that is a cross between sim city and a MIDI sequencer.
http://isleoftune.com/?id=3935 - my arrangement of "Thought I Knew You" by Matthew Sweet. Start the car at the top of the screen and you'll hear it. (If it starts at the bottom just wait for it to get to the top).
Start the car at the bottom of the screen, and you'll find out that it's hard to arrange music, but it's really fun: through arranging this piece and listening to it backward while the "car" drove backward I realized that Sweet's composition style has a lot in common with Bach and Mozart piano sonatas (in that sometimes the melody line is sometimes inverted, and played against itself, etc.)
