Used books like me. I often go into a Barnes & Noble, an Amazon.com, a Borders, and what I want is too expensive, or out of stock, or both.

But used books? Another matter.

Today, rainy, was an exellent day for new finds.

Separations, Marilyn Hacker. Her second collection of poetry. Happy Birthday, [livejournal.com profile] rushthatspeaks.

Colophon: A Book Collector's Quarterly. Vol. I, no. 2. Autumn, 1935. Samples: "The Literature of Alchemy," "Proof-Reading in the Sixteenth and Seventeenth Centuries," and an essay on kinds of book rarity and the differences between them.

An Address Delivered by William Morris at the Distribution of Prizes to Students of the Birmingham Municipal School of Art on Feb. 21, 1894. Printed at the Chiswick Press, 1898.

I am particularly proud of this last one; though the cover shows a little water damage there's an uncut page at the back. There's a little advertisement on a slip of paper: "Messrs Longmans intend this books to be sold to the Public at the advertised price, and supply it to the Trade on terms which will not allow of discount."
