Done Isn't
28/8/05 18:44So, I spent a lot of time cleaning up, unpacking, cooking tomorrow's lunch, doing laundry. Things I needed to do between last weekend, when I wasn't home, and this coming weekend, when I also won't be around (I'll be visiting rabidfangurl, wherdragon, and Kitten in CT).
Tomorrow evening I can't do anything because I will be working 'til at least 8 pm and probably longer; it'll definitely be at least 9:30 before I get home.
So I cooked a kind of curry/rice/meat/tahini thing with the leftovers. I took out the trash. I cleaned the bathroom and the kitchen and swept and mopped and did lots and lots of laundry.
I spent several hours doing laundry, carefully sorting it so that the delicates would all be together and everything had stain-remover-stuff on that had a stain.
Now I have, clean:
1.) A tiny ACLU bag. It is now half the size it previously was, which was its advantage over my other, smaller bag. I did not put it in the dryer; this was an effect gained only by washing it.
2.) A brand-new Otakon t-shirt which has turned a lovely shade of dinge and has bled out all the sharpie all over itself so as to look like crap and be unwearable except in the house, which really really pisses me off. I didn't dry it in the dryer--so there's a chance that given another forty washings it might come out--but this has never happened before; I washed it as I'd washed all the other signed con shirts and it just decided to be evil this time.I was really looking forward to wearing a new, nice t-shirt that fits, especially as my mother sent me all the t-shirts I couldn't wear and I can't find any of the ones I actually like, many of which can't be replaced--the Sandman one, the custom-made one with dragon wings on the back, the one from Paris. And two of the ones she sent me which I could wear have subsequently been discolored, by idiots leaving bleach in communal washers (the Atlanta Olympics t-shirt) and/or run-ins with Lucien and Raphael (that one got thrown out).
3.) A Pinoko costume that got a big blackish-purple stain down the front of it such that I'll probably have to make another one.
I wonder why I even bother sometimes.
