Wherein a Pun is Made.
1/8/02 23:36I am going to be not-here this weekend; I am going to visit Rush-that-Speaks and Signy (at least, she'd better be there or have a really good excuse) with Syona Keleste in New York City. And see the kittens. And watch Trigun. And have much fun. Yay. Happy.
That would be the first Metropolis. The second is a movie of the same name, which is based on a manga by Tezuka. Wayman showed it to me the other night.
Wow. Um, wow. How strange. I don't think Wayman'd ever seen my brain break quite that badly before - I don't think that half of the Hydra has, for that matter.
I've just come out of martial arts class and am therefore going to sleep soon, but I have, as of now, only four things to say about this movie:
1.)The soundtrack was amazing.
2.)I found a lot of the backgrounds to be cluttered. It was hard to focus on anything - the visual equivalent of background noise was therefore present for me for most of the film. I was not expecting this and suspect it may have looked better in the theater.
3.)"Um, wow. I don't know if I can say I liked that. I don't know if I can say I hated that. Um, wow. How strange."
4.)It's not every day you see a movie which uses images from your personal worst nightmares as visuals during some of the most important scenes.
