Wow.

What an amazing day. And it's not even done yet.

I woke up from another of the "it's a tag sale in your mind: everything must go" mishmash dreams that I seem to be having lately and felt rather happy, in a surreal Alice in Wonderland kind of way.

I pulled on my Sandman T-shirt, which I had been planning to wear anyway, for no particular reason other than the fact that I felt like it.

I memorized my English presentation on "The Origin of Dreams." The process of writing the story was amazing: I managed to explain to myself several things about a novel-that-I-wasn't-going-to-write-but-now-am, but also managed to explain to myself more bits of my philosophy of Importance and Story and Honour that I talked about with Ruth the time before the last time she was here visiting, and that had the effect of explaining bits of myself to myself.

And then I went and gave the presentation (aka, told the story). And everyone kind of went, "wow!" And then when we needed someone to tell Cinderella later, as an example, they asked me to tell them the story of Cinderella, and actually wouldn't let me not tell them the story. The professor even wanted me to tell the story. So I told it, and they listened and laughed.

And fully half the class seriously wouldn't mind it if I was asked to tell a different fairy tell each Tuesday when the class met.

And someone came up to me after class, and said, "you should tell stories more." And I said, "I do. I'm going to be a novelist." And she grinned.

And this afternoon validated my entire existence. All of it. Which was a very impressive thing for one pleasant afternoon to do.

And then I went on the internet, where I found out they're turning this picture of Morpheusinto a poster.

And I'm watching "My Neighbor Totoro" tonight with Lila and Irina after I finish classes and work.
And I finally realized that what Irina pointed out to me today at lunch is the most correct it has ever been: I really should have known better than to assume it was all coincidence.
