the books read very quickly.

reviews of the miniseries were rather uneven - i know that Le Guinn was rather indignant, and a number of fans were unhappy with changes to both plot and tone. i haven't yet seen it so i can't express a personal opinion, but the plot changes i've heard described are not encouraging.

presumably the new flick will do its own thing and stand on its own anyway.
