Well, my friend Jen's dad, who has been ill, has gallbladder problems now on top of everything else...not happy.
And a Bryn Mawr Alum and friend of mine, Beth, had her dad die on Christmas day of cancer...wow. I feel horrid for her.

But there's nothing I can do about either of those other than offering prayers and support for the families, so life goes on...

I didn't ask for much for Christmas, and got it. I like that about my life. Some new sealing wax, some chocolate in my stocking, a couple books, some earrings, some money to get nice new pants and shoes with from my grandparents, some stationery. It's fun. And I also got a nifty "wonders of the universe" calendar half off and a kneadable gum eraser for my sketchbook so I don't mess up my pencil drawings.

Life otherwise is only slightly boring, but that forces me to be creative. I edited a story today (not my own, a friend's), cat-sat for some people, and yesterday spent a wonderful five hours "going out to lunch" with friends. And read "Stranger in a Strange Land," by Heinlein, for the first time. I see why people say he is a master. I am still digesting the book.

I still haven't told my parents, but will. Thank you...and that's all for now, folks.
