eredien: Dancing Dragon (Default)
[personal profile] eredien
My brain was hit with a Babylon 5 fic-thing last evening after watching the first episode of season two.
It will be produced after the following projects are done (in order):

- Puck Drabble for Weirdquark
- Star Wars drabble for R.
- Ben Jonson or Shakespeare or Donne drabble (not slash) for Lotusbiosm unless she quickly requests some other author(s)/fandom(s) I know better. After three days it gets to be my choice. Mwahaha.

I don't like to do real person slash, even when those real people are dead, for various complicated spiritual reasons which I will be happy to explain at length if someone has an hour or so. Summary: I don't like manipulating characters, especially if it's just to make them do something that they really wouldn't probably do to titillate an audience--it's wrong. Also, personally speaking, the line between "soul" and "character" is relatively thin in odd ways for me. These lines get wierder when I attempt to think about theology and death and heaven and God in terms of that. So basically it's a thing where I don't want to use someone as a character because, well, they're not. They have a soul and all that stuff. And that's not mine to do with as I please.

Exception: if the people in question were actually considered kind of questionable/slashy by actual time-period sources (Marlowe? Wilde? Sure.) or you have some kind of research backing it up, I will happily write real-person slash!

- Attempting fix of fanfic webpage so I can upload people's stuff to it.
- Wolf pic for Batshua.
- Revision of first three parts of "City of the Dead" to reflect new viewpoint character info and plot stuff.
- Current short fiction works: Unnamed Thing and "Made Flesh and Walked Among Us." Finished and at least the second one revised 'til done and good and then SENT OUT DAMMIT.
- Second rough draft of "Orisons of the Last Mechanic," wherein I am determined it shall gain plot and lose the snarky car and stop trying to be Connie Willis and become mine.
- "Come Down from this Cloud" - Transmetropolitan fanfic.
- Second stanza of "Tesla in Love."

Crap, that's a lot of writing. I feel really happy about that. Plus all these projects are lining up nicely instead of all trying to crowd to the front, and waiting and being productive until it's their turn, at which point they go onto the page and do stuff.

Question for Kass-in-England: Have you ever been to a goth club in England? Do you mind if I pick your brain about what that's like for writing-research? Feel free to add commments here or email me if you'd rather.
