eredienI'm finally kind of back online, and very much looking forward to resuming a normal life tomorrow after I finish the work I've got for tonight.
I took this survey from Illucian's livejournal. I don't really know her, but have seen Illucian posting comments on acquaintances' journals and sometimes I read her journal.
1. Chinese astrological element and sign?
Dog by zodiac sign...that's all I know. And that from the placemat at the resturant in Chinatown this past weekend.
2. What is your favorite colour?
Purple. And silver, but since that's metallic I don't really consider it a color.
3. What landscape do you like the most (be as descriptive as you want)?
Waterfalls, green lush plants. Rocky outcroppings and hills, flat meadows and rolling hills and trees everywhere, and when you look up you see the sky outlined by treebranches.
Somewhere that gets four seasons and looks good in all of them. Basically the Adirondack Mountains if they were perfect.
4. Why do you like that landscape so much?
It's quieter. There's more to see and think about, and no one to stop you from doing it.
5. If you could become any animal on Earth, what would you be?
On Earth?
I don't know. That's a hard one. Dolphin. Colecanth, maybe, or some kind of bird- an owl, perhaps. Or maybe a blue whale. I also think it would be interesting to see out of a bug's eyes.
6. Why would you be that animal?
I can't pick just one...they're all neat. Dolphin because I am convinced they're up to more than chasing fish with those stinkin' huge brains of theirs.
7. What is your favourite animal on Earth?
Horses. Dolphins. I also (oddly) like squid and their relatives, and am fascinated by chambered nautiluses. (Nautili?)
8. Is your favourite animal is different from the animal you wish you could become?
Nope, not really.
9. What is your favourite flower?
Lilacs. Trillums after that, but they're endangered. Paugh.
10. Do you know the meaning of that flower in the flower language? If so, what is it?
According to http://www.persianflora.com/aboutflower/language.cfm#l, purple lilacs are "the first emotions of love." And according to http://wwwmaths.anu.edu.au/~kewley/Victoria/language.htm, trillums are "modest beauty." I kind of like that.
11. What is your favourite visual media (TV, Media, written materials...)?
Books. I'm including Manga in that. Or dreams. Do they count?
12. What color pen do you prefer to use?
Black or blue. Whatever's handy and readable. I don't like all these pastel gel pen things, just because of the way they feel when I write with them.
13. What is your favourite style of footwear?
Sandals, no question. When it's too cold for sandals, then hiking-boot type things.
14. If you got a tattoo, what would that tattoo be of?
I wouldn't get one, I don't think. That's why I prefer henna...you can change your mind every month or so.
15. Would you rather get a piercing than a tattoo?
Yes. For a while I thought about getting a second ear-piercing, but then decided it was a phase.
16. What is your favourite kind of sunglasses?
For a play I did in 11th grade where I was the child of flower children, I got these wonderful Ringo Starr-type glasses, round with purple tinted lenses and silver frames. Goodness, I loved those things. Then I lost 'em. Guess they went the same place as all those socks.
17. What style of jeans do you prefer to wear (color, type)?
Anything that fits and feels comfortable. Not black jeans, usually.
18. Do you wear your clothes, or do the clothes wear you (Interpret as you may)?
I wear my clothes, sometimes until they wear out if I really like them. That's what they're for, right? I hate clothes-shopping.
19. What kind of weather do you like?
Imagine a breezy day in fall. The wind is twisting the leaves around your ankles on the warmer side of brisk. The sky is perfect blue, and the moon is coming out with the sun going down behind the trees of gold and purple-red, with a wash of yellow and gold across the sky. The stones of the campus buildings are turning pink flecked with silver.
That's the perfect weather day. And I've lived in it. :)
20. What is your favourite season of the year?
Fall. As if you couldn't tell from Question #19.
21. Have you ever walked/ran in the snow? Barefoot?
Yes. Didn't really like it. My feet control my body temperature, so when they get cold fast so do I.
22. Have you ever walked/ran barefoot on a sandy beach?
Yes. Everyone should do this at some time in their lives. I've been to beaches in Florida and Virgina/Maryland and in the Adirondack Mountains and Cape Cod and done this...it's marvelous.
23. Have you ever gotten lost in a forest? On purpose?
Yes. I walk in forests, alone, for my own personal thinking-times. I know the regular forests I walk in well, but sometimes get turned around for fun. I've also gotten lost in a few not on purpose, but that was with my Ecology class for an assignment, so that was ok.
24. If you were given a choice to do any job you wanted, what career would you pursue?
Everything I wanted to.
SF/Fantasy novelist. Essayist. Webdesign. Calligrapher.

25. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?
With my friends and family (blood-family, church-family, and online-family) near. All my loved-ones would be around me, but not near enough to stifle. Preferably somewhere like the landscape in question three, without the economic problems currently in the area where the RL landscape is actually like that.

I actually did try to get lost in one on purpose... when I got treated awfully at the gather in Denver by my so called mate at the time I went off one night and just kept walking, not caring if I got lost. Unfortunately I somehow found my way back even though it was dark when I returned. But I did end up seeing the most amazing sunset and starry sky ever. It was a PERFECT night and I've never seen so many stars in my life. It was beautiful!
#25. Mainly a place where I could see all the stars at night, and a place where you could be with me and happy :) *snugs*
