eredien: Dancing Dragon (Default)

A coworker of mine found a kitten along the side of the road the other day and may be looking for a home for it if she does not want to take it herself. It is a grey tabby and because of its young age (approximately two weeks) will have to be bottle-fed for some time yet. She would like the kitten to go somewhere where it would be an indoor cat. It is really cute, eats well, and looks relatively healthy for being recently dumped in the ditch.

So, anybody who knows me who lives in the Central New York area: want a kitten? Leave a post here.

In other news, what do people do for sinus problems caused by allergies that doesn't fall under the heading of "OTC allergy pills?" I've had a sinus headache for three days now and it's starting to bother me.

I'm about halfway done with the first dream illustration. To the people who would like me to make that into a novel: I usually don't do that; the atmosphere of such dreams tends to disintegrate under any kind of plot at all. But I do--and have in the past--used elements from dreams successfully when incorporated into pre-exitsting structures.

This combined with my absolutely esoteric interest in blazon (the terminology of heraldry), my recently resurrected equally esoteric interest in alchemy, and the insanely esoteric Harmony-of-the-Spheres-novel plot idea to do some interesting stuff in regard to:
- the exterior decoration and naming of the spaceships in relation to the parts of the universe they will be going through and things they believe they will encounter when/if they get there
- the creation a new sub-branch of alchemist-heralds where both disciplines interact on a purely symbolic level to create non-symbolic changes in the bloodlines of humanity.

There, I've got it!!

Oh, I found the perfect opening quote for the book the other day, from some famous alchemical tablet or another.
I really am so glad I started learning about heraldry in the fifth grade for no known reason; now I know lots of what I need to know already in that subject area so I can concentrate on all the others.

I also just realized I will have to have Gesualdo living in my head at some point in the future.

Sinus headaches

I recommend steam. Hot steamy showers tend to help, as does Tylenol (for the pain). To clear them out, hot and sour soup from a Chinese restaurant. I don't know how long it will last, but it might help for a bit.

I wish I could take the kitten- when she's bigger she can chase the mouse away... But I'm too far, and don't have time to bottle feed a kitten.

Yes, for sinus troubles, hot steam is good, as are hot foods like chiles or other hot to medium peppers, or just a rich chicken soup with black pepper in it.

Another suggestion is peppermint oil along the upper lip, or sucking on mint or cinnomin candies.

*snugs* I hope you're feeling better, soon.

I wanna kitten! But I can't have one. Has your coworker checked out the local animal shelter? Ours in PA only adopts indoor animals, will take care of the kitten until it's old enough to go out and kittens always go fast.

Re: Sinus problems, if it continues check with a doctor. I take nasonex (a perscrip nose spray) for mine. I also use ibuprofen and sudafed. Sometimes tea helps. Do you know what's causing it (dust, weather, pollen)?
