In honor of both Rush-That-Speaks' lovely long SF/Fantasy reading lists and my good mood, I am going to title each post I make with a line from a favorite speculative fiction story from now until whenever I feel like stopping or until I run out of quotes.

This week's is from George Alec Effinger's brilliant and impossibly-beautiful-in-its-transient-despair Two Sadnesses.

I love my new job.

I tend to throw myself into work that I like, especially when there isn't a lot else to do. It's good that I have this job.

My coworkers are also neat. One is going on vacation to Japan and reminds me a bit of you, Syona Keleste. Another I had a lovely conversation with about the Rock Poltergeist.

I am writing a lot, which is good. Gaudior and Rush-That-Speaks--did you get my latest bit of City of the Dead? What did you think? I am also thinking a lot about dragons, and drew a quite fun picture I am trying to post on my website, without success.

Arcturax--why do I get a 403 not found error when I try to upload a new HTML file to the server? Can you look into this for me?

Meep, are you able to FTP in at all? If not then I need to reset your password.

Also, you got a job? Yay! I guess I missed it, I've missed almost a week of LJ, been tired plus busy, did a con last weekend, 4th this weekend and another con the next, things have been hectic, but I'll try to see to your server problem, just let me know if you can FTP in, if not then I'll have to look at the password and firewall too.

I can FTP in, and the update shows up on the index page and the art page, but it will not display the image on the art page correctly even though it's in the correct directory, and it will not display korith.html at all even though all the HTML is set up fine.

I can upload stuff but it won't show. 403 Forbidden it gives me whenever I try to look at it.

Ok, sorry this took so long, had the con and was sick afterwards for a week...

But I think I fixed the problem. Let me know if you still have problems with newly uploaded files. I fixed the ones you uploaded, but am not sure if new uploaded files won't have the same issue.

You can peek at my lj, if you want to really know how I am. I try to keep updated with it each day that I'm home. If I could get Dest's new addy, I'd appreciate it; her number I'll wait on, though... as I'm hoping to move sooner, rather than later.
