In other news:

Thesis researching proceeding apace happily.

Got appointment with Career Counselor at CDO on Friday. (Apparently my brain decided that today was the day to take my life after college seriously.)

The Pall of Doomâ„¢ over the East Coast appears to have lifted today. This is good.

For various people, who I have been talking to about these things for a week:

The Griffin and the Minor Canon, specifically for Rushthatspeaks, but really for everyone who hasn't read it before. Not quite horror, as I remembered it, but good.

Look up SF and Fantasy by title, author, etc. at the Science Fiction Database, and find information about the story--this is helpful for looking up obscure things if you've forgotten where you'd first read them.

A new book, an anthology of fictional diseases. Entries by Moore, Mievelle, and Gaiman, among others.

Was again horrendously productive today--went and got candy for small Halloween trick-or-treaters, found a tea diffuser at the store for my new loose tea, and got a pumpkin and carved it.

I was partly inspired by Jedibl's pictures of her wonderful pumpkins, partly inspired by the fact that there will be professors' children tick-or-treating here in a scant few days and I had to do something Halloweeny, and partly missing carving pumpkins. I love to carve pumpkins, with intricate designs. This isn't my best design--that'd have to be the year I did the oriental dragon (I'm still looking for the pattern I know I saved)--but considering that I did this in about an hour with only two little saws that didn't have the greatest turning radius for cutting the curves, I think it's good.
