Two ironies noted today and over the weekend:
1.) The African Dance Troupe performing in front of a large, steely-eyed poster of Uncle Sam pointing accusingly.
2.) Some slides I had to take care of today came out of a book entitled The gods of Earth and Sky. If there had been a "four" anywhere in the title, I would have not opened the thing.

My poem got rejected again. Encouraging notes are good, though. Next market.

Okay. So, most people who read this journal on a semi-regular basis know why there isn't going to be a movie about the Trojan War.

Wait. Did I say, "isn't?" Let me correct. "Shouldn't be."
But since when has such a small thing as "Good Lord, that Thing Ought Not to Be" stopped anyone?

I quote from an article I found in Arc's journal, talking about the proposed Batman vs. Superman movie. (Which, by the way, I can see upsetting three groups of people: those who like Batman, those who like Superman, and those who like both Batman and Superman. Wait - aren't those all the people who would be interested in watching the movie?)

Ahem.
Petersen [the slated director] is attached to a number of other projects at Warner Bros. These include the Orson Scott Card sci-fi series "Ender's Game" and "Ender's Shadow" as well as the epic "The Trojan War." He said his interest in those projects continues.
