Halloween Doldrums

eredienHello? Life? Where are you? I try to find you and go out and do stuff which would make me feel emotionally better, but you make me put up wanted posters and call all over the neighborhood trying to find you.
I was going to go to work and a concert today; instead I woke up at 8 am and my sinuses said, "oh, God, no." And my headache said, "lalala, you can't hear me...oh, HERE I AM!" and my stomach said, "hey, that organic vegetarian chili soup bowl yesterday? Bad, bad idea." And so I called into work, called gaudior to let her know I would not, in fact, be able to go to the Dresden Dolls concert, and slept until 1 and ate chicken soup all day and still feel as if there is someone pounding on both of my eyebrows with a tiny ball-peen hammer. From the inside. At least wierdquark was able to use my ticket.
I sent "Love Story" into Strange Horizons; we'll see how they like it. Thank you, Rush-that-speaks and Syona Keleste, for your helpful commentary on grammar, paragraph confusion, and how to kill unnecessary sentences. Gaudior, tomorrow remind me that you want to read it and I'll dig out the file for you. I know you said you wanted to read it before I sent it, but it was ready and I couldn't have waited a second longer to send it off because I was getting somewhat anxious about it.
Next up: possibly "Made Flesh and Walked Among Us," possibly the Fae Novel. I still can't think of a good Shakespearean drabble-plot, Lotusbiosm; I'll just get around to it when I can.
The pumpkin is sitting outside, hopefully still glowing; it'd better with four candles. I'll try one more time to take a picture but I do think that the details are just, well, too detailed to come out correctly. I may post a scan of the original design at least.
I hate feeling crappy on Halloween; I should be out in the wind and music celebrating fall, my favorite season.
Hopefully things may be better tomorrow. Bed now and aspirin. Tomorrow fabric store and sewing and apartment-hunting after work.
[Note: are any of you having problems with your lj friends page? Mine only shows entries from whatever date "today" happens to be, and from October 19th. This is proving unexpectedly annoying and problematic. I thought it was perhaps because I accidentally had the computer timeclock set to some date in November, and posted, but I have since fixed that issue and re-posted the said posts under the correct dates. Still it does not want to show me anything between the 19th and "the current date." Ideas? Workarounds? Please?]
