Writer's Block: You Ate What?

-Cactus paddle is a bit odd texture-wise, but very tasty.
-Natto and sea urchin are both very strange to an American palate, but I've come to find Natto tasty (sea urchin is also very tasty but I don't eat fish/shellfish anymore), and eat it bimonthly or so.
-Tiny dried squid were very--crunchy. I was expecting to like them but they were not for me.
-A Maple Leaf is probably the oddest thing I've eaten. So bitter! That was the episode that convinced me that there were things I was probably better off not eating to see what they tasted like.

For me, definitely the porcupine in Alaska. It might actually be quite good if properly marinated and grilled, but boiled it was very gamy and very, very oily. If presented with more apetizingly-cooked and sustainably raised porcupine, I would have to decide whether or not I cared that they aren't kosher.
