Quizzes and Other Stuff

I'm just going to be adding to this post as the night continues.

Penn
University of Pennsylvania
You were a hard-working wannabe cool kid, and now
you are at the Ivy Leage equivalent of a rich,
suburban high school, and all of the kids used
to be too hard-working to be cool, so now you
all pretend to be cool together. As long as
Daddy keeps sending you money and you keep that
coke habit in check, you're degree will mean
something someday, even if none of your classes
did.

Which Ivy League University is right for YOU?

I am so not UPenn. At least it didn't give me Cornell. (Which isn't a bad place in and of itself, it just isn't me. I have several friends who are happy there).

xavier
o_O Another fancier of the old. Good for you I
guess. Charles is seen as a fatherly-type of
person, and is one you can open up to. He is
known to be amiable and very dependable. His
genius is only surpassed by his love and
understanding of other people. He makes for a
great companion with much affection, plus, the
baldness *is* kinda sexy.

I wanted Nightcrawler, but Patrick Stewart, er, Professor Xavier, is nifty too.

Canada
Canada -
Although originally a simple British colony, it has
flourished into a Mid-Level power. Admired
worldwide for its culture, acceptance and
quality of living standards.

Positives:
Loved By All.
Mid-Level Power.
Renowned Despite Proximity to Superpower.
Damn Good Maple Syrup. Inuit.

Negatives:
Often Ignored.
Cold.
Monarch-Democractic Struggles.
Stereotyped.

Yay, Canada!

An article about Ray Bradbury. I've been seeing a lot more stuff written about him lately; I've recently been in one of those things where sometimes the universe shows its appreciation for you by giving you a sudden glut of reading material on a favorite topic. I love Bradbury and still think the term paper I did on him in 11th grade was quite interesting.

Okay, okay. So I'll admit it. Not only do I have a bishonen thing, but I apparently have a thing for dark and sexy bishies. So shoot me.

Me: aww, a plushie flu virus! Sooo cute!
My saner half: huh? Well, okay, it is kind of cute. Except for the strep throat one. And they're reasonably priced. But who thinks of these things?
Me: some sick twisted person like me, obviously.

A long and interesting treatise on Hieronymus Bosch, Will the real Hieronymus Bosch Please Stand Up by Damon Knight. Haven't read all of yet, but want to. Symbology and paintings and the medieval mind, oh my!

In other news, what should scare me more: the fact that I was happy that I found a book on medieval imprisonment, or the fact that I'd been looking for such a source for years?

And, finally:
Merion House

I still say I'm a Denbighite, darnit. I just am.

I'm afraid I can't collect the entire set -- the nations test told me I was Switzerland, and I'm not prepared to stand for that. ;)

Medieval imprisonment? Cool!

Actually, I've done some rather stringent research on that topic for a couple of stories I wrote. Though I still remember the time I was checking out a somewhat large stack of books on methods of torture. The person at the desk was a Silverthorn member, and looked at my selections with some amusement. I muttered something about doing research, realized a second later how that sounded, and slunk out of the library feeling exceptionally silly. Hope your book is a good one.
