Why isn't the "test" noise on a fire alarm something that sounds more pleasant? You need to get so close to it to press the button, and then there's this ear-splitting beep at close range.

Well, if it played Mozart or This was a Triumph, maybe people would run down the batteries by pressing it all the time :P
