Why isn't the "test" noise on a fire alarm something that sounds more pleasant? You need to get so close to it to press the button, and then there's this ear-splitting beep at close range.

I had the pleasure of the same the other… at periodic intervals for approximately three hours while they went through my apartment building. -_-;
