Things that are bad to hear in urgent care clinic

We need to give you a shot of antibiotics.

You have a blood infection.

Go to the ER if this gets worse, otherwise come back tomorrow. Actually, come back tomorrow anyway and go to the ER now to get blood cultures done.

Me: it's not Wednesday?!

Humorous things you don't really want to hear from ER intake staff:
"Is [livejournal.com profile] rax your caseworker?"

Things I can do with less pain after injection:
Sit up
Open mouth
Lie down

Things I wasn't doing before the injection that I am doing now:
Eating
Sleeping (I hope)
Taking huge horse pills
Thinking that gatorade was the elixir of the gods

On the other hand, those weren't hives after all!

Oh, good?

(That sounds terrifying. I'm very glad you were functional enough to go to urgent care! Feel better, very quickly!)

...EEEEGGGHHH. Blood poisoning is BAD. Good on you for being proactive about feeling nasty and getting checked up.

I find myself reminded of the Food Service Manager, whose youngest daughter (17 months) had what appeared to be an infection in one ear, for which the doctor wanted to prescribe antibiotics.

Not believing in antibiotics so young, he took his daughter to the local children's hospital instead (Arnold Palmer).

As it turned out, it wasn't an infection...it was cancer. Malignant, too. Fortunately, they caught it VERY early, and believe there should be no further problems from it, although still waiting to see if her hearing recovers.

Surprising what one finds when dealing with medical problems, isn't it?

Get well soon.

Yikes! I am glad you have a diagnosis and an injection and things, and that it is being taken care of.

eek!

i'm so glad you took this to somebody - please do try to take things easy and to take doctors' orders seriously for the next little bit.

Oh dear GODS. I am glad you got treated, and are (hopefully) feeling better. But a blood infection was so the last thing you needed! Feh!

*hugs* and also *more hugs* That sounds like approximately less than no fun at all. I hope that whatever is in the horse pills makes you feel much better very quickly. Yeach.
