Fun, Boring, Hard

Had a fun friday evening eating homemade pizza with K. Went over to lutris's house yesterday with raxvulpine. Spent a pleasant and relaxing time doing origami, eating vegan Chinese, finding out that a certain video game gives me motion sickness, and playing the first Hero's Quest game on a giant, giant screen.

Have been doing boring stuff around the house. Found out that my new scanner, which I found on the roadside with a free sign on it a year ago, came with a slide/film scanner (!) and the wrong power adapter, so I have to order a new one.

Did some stuff to write up a power of financial attorney, a will, and a medical power of attorney. Wow, that was hard and boring, and I still have to get them notarized and witnessed by people who aren't actually the person specified in a power of attorney. Special.

Read Kij Johnson's story The Evolution of trickster stories among the dogs of North Park dogs after the Change. I was looking for a change of pace from thinking about death. I didn't really get one, but soon I will go out to the store and do laundry and more filing.

It's boring, but necessary, and fun, weekend full of stuff. I feel productive.

I've just read that story (while I should be doing homework). It's sad, and thought-provoking especially now that I have just welcomed a dog into my household.

I used an online kit from the suze orman website. Eventually I'd like to go to a lawyer, but I don't quite have the money right now and I think that this is better than nothing.
