I would rather live in the mountains. The snow is horrible, but the ocean feels too open for me.

I've done both. Mountains, definitely. I prefer the feel of bedrock to the feel of sand under my feet.

The mountains for me as well. I always feel safe somehow in the mountains, especially if they're of the heavily-forested sort.

Ocean. I'm very much a water person. It's hard to adequately describe the sense of awe that I get from the ocean.
