Just to let you all know, my paternal grandmother died yesterday. She had been very sick for about a week and had not been well for about 5 years before that, so it was expected, but not welcomed. I am still coming on the trip to California/Seattle.
You are loved, and you are hugged if you would like to be hugged, and I hope that you have time to grieve, time to reminisce, time to let go of pain but not of love. I hope that you can remember and mourn in your own way, with R at your side. I hope that your trip is excellent and that you realize it's okay for it to be excellent.
You have my condolences. Expected doesn't make it any easier to deal with (my grandfather passed away after a vicious battle with cancer. Seeing it coming. . . didn't help, and being told "at least it was expected" . . . was even more unhelpful). *hugs*
