Laundry Woes

Last night, people played D&D over at my house specifically so I could finish doing my laundry, which sorely needed done.

Last night, when I went to bed at midnight, one load was in the dryer and another was ready to be put in first thing in the morning.

6:15 am - alarm goes off. Get up, grab quarters. Head to basement.
6:16 am - get to basement. See that someone else's laundry is already in the dryer.
6:17 am - look at dryer. See that dryer, instead of being set for 60 minutes, is set for 80, thus ensuring that I will not be able to put my load of laundry in to dry before going to work. Start to whimper.
6:19 am - turn to load of laundry that was drying last night with a happy exclamation. "At least you're gloriously dry, bath towel, shirts, underwear, and classy silk work pants: I will have something to wear to work today." Go to pick up basket.
6:20 am - note that laundry in basket is still damp, as if it had been taken out halfway through its drying cycle last evening.
6:21 am - look over at 80 minute drying cycle to two piles of damp, unwearable laundry. Start to bang head against table, causing socks to fall onto floor.
6:22 am - Hope that iron I bought yesterday might do something to dry clothing.
6:23 am - stomp back upstairs with pile of damp clothing. Realize that must still get to train by 7:15 am. Have no idea how I will dry hair.

It had been such a good weekend up until this point.
Must iron now instead of nice leisurely breakfast.

Update: I also lost one of a pair of one of my favorite sets of earrings in the time between when I left the apartment and when I crossed the street. Annoyed...sigh. Can't be replaced; my mom gave them to me.

Thought of a new thing for Sumptuary [RPG I'm going to be running], though, so it balances out.

Note to housemates: I will be over to watch B5 and do gaming this evening; I just have to toss at least one load of laundry in the dryer before I come over.

Well, someone proved to be an asshole, didn't they?

Have you actually managed to get the dryer to 60 minutes without adding more quarters? It only sets up to 45 on high as far as I've seen. Which usually means my clothes come out in a wash of steam, and I have to take them upstairs and hang them up immediately to dry.

So confused about when the hair got wet. Then I realized you must have been planning to take a shower after all this. I would just have skipped the shower. Or gone to work with wet hair. Or taken shower and not washed hair (since it doesn't need to be washed everyday).
And it's entirely possible that someone took your stuff out early. Or that your towels were so wet (being absorbant as they generally are) that they needed more drying energy/time and so all of your stuff was damp. I've also totally put mildly damp clothes on before. Or folded them and left them in the drawer.
