Huh. That actually sounds really useful -- I wouldn't buy one now, since I don't have the fuzzy kind of laptop right now and don't use the electronic kind very often, but there have definitely been times when I could have used such a thing.
The one problem I can see is that cats often prefer to be on top of the keyboard, regardless of the position of the keyboard, as they are wont to demonstrate on desks. This might be mitigated if one can keep petting the cat, but that tends to reduce one's ability to type.
