Please see my response to glasser. :) I think the ultimate reason is, "well, I really like it there, and I've already started to build a community there," the same way that I really liked living in Boston for a long, long time and felt drawn to it, and already had a community there.
If Rachel hadn't gotten into IU this spring, and/or had wanted to go elsewhere, I was going to propose to her that maybe I should go to Indiana and we should have a long-distance relationship, because I really want to go to IU and be in Indiana for my own reasons, and had been making connections there before we moved from Boston--which, I think, is part of what convinced her to try and move with me, even though she was unsure of if she wanted me to go.
